Gay Campisi, President – Attended the Superintendents meeting with Mr. Ehman, there are proposed decreases in our State Budget by the governor; several meetings will be held over the months to come to discuss this topic.

There is a Community Forum with our community leaders which has stated there is an increasing use of HEROINE it is easily accessible and it is CHEAP, making it more appealing to the children. It is distributed in little packs that are attracting the children with Batman/Spiderman etc symbols on packets; they are trying to put together a meeting to educate us the parents on what it looks like, stay tuned for further details.

Anita w/ SEPTA - next SEPTA meeting January 12 @ 7:30 they will be discussing Speech, Occupational and Physical therapies. Also, BEST BUDDIES has been a great success in the middle school!
Sue- Sports Night 2/27 Smithtown HS East time to be determined, volunteers are still needed to help out.

Student Council – Food Pantry had tremendous donations, but more is always needed.
Snowman Project- was once again a great success with a wonderful response from all of us!
Mr. Graf – Over 200 families donated for the Snowman project, thank you ? There were a few issues with the inclement weather dismissal, with the timing of the release of students, he is working on correcting that issue in order to avoid any problems in the future. Looking forward to the upcoming School Fair on Saturday, February 7th from 10-3 bring the family and come join in the fun. ELA’s are being held this month for grades 3rd, 4th and 5th. Our Science Fair is Thursday April 2nd, all projects will be on display for all of the grade levels. Seven more smart boards were installed in the school, there is on going training for them and we are expecting another three this weekend.
